Code+Resistance
In a time of executive orders and alternative facts, how can coders, technologists and artists find a meaningful voice? How can we learn from the work of long-time activists and organizers, and support their work on the ground? Can we move beyond tech solutionism? How does a community dominated by young white men embrace intersectionality?
The Format
In this one-day summit, we’ll try to answer these questions and draw a path forward for effective, inclusive resistance. Structured as an ‘un-conference’, code+resistance provides a forum for every attendee to lead discussions, present work, teach workshops and devise new models for collaboration.
Who Should Attend?
Code+Resistance is open to coders + non coders, activists and would-be-activists, organizers and those looking to be organized. We’re committed to assembling a diverse set of voices, and to providing a safe space for conversation.
The Setting
Code+Resistance will be held at Intermedia Arts, a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary arts space in Minneapolis, MN. Transportation will be provided between the summit venue and the Millennium hotel.
Registration Required – Pay What you Can
Registration for the Summit is required and attendance is limited to 100 participants. We expect demand to exceed capacity. Registration opens on February 8th, 2016 at the same time tickets for the Eyeo Festival go on sale.
In an attempt to make access to the summit easy for all we’re offering registration on a “pay what you can” basis.
